Clinical Supervision

The Ellis Agency is registered and able to provide clinical supervision to Counselors-in-Training (CITs) and clinicians eligible to become Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselors (PLPCs) in the state of Missouri. Supervision focuses on enhancing the knowledge, skill, and attitude of CITs and PLPCs through their experience in the field, all while providing an opportunity for the supervisees to explore and build upon specific areas of growth through the guidance of an experienced Licensed Professional Counselor.

At the beginning of the clinical supervision relationship, supervisees complete a self assessment to identify areas to target during the sessions. Some of the responsibilities of the supervisor include (but are not limited to):

  • Overseeing and monitoring all aspects of client case conceptualization and treatment planning.
  • Assisting in the development of professional goals and identifying tasks to complete throughout supervision. Goals and tasks are specific and based upon professional competencies.
  • Encouraging supervisee to articulate a developmental theory, modality of choice, and best practices techniques applicable to various cases.

The agency also offers clinical consultation services to fully licensed clinicians and agencies looking for support and professional development.
